The John J. McGuirk Department of Veterans Affairs Outpatient Clinic provides general internal medical care. This includes care for immediate and chronic health concerns, preventive medical care, physical exams, diagnostic laboratory testing, general X-rays and limited immediate pharmacy services.

ADVANTAGES

Veterans will have one primary care provider to coordinate care on an ongoing basis.
Veterans can receive primary medical care closer to home.
Veterans will still be eligible for specialty outpatient care, inpatient care and all other entitlements through the West Haven or Newington Campuses.

Please mail a completed application along with a copy of your DD-214 and discharge papers to:

DIRECTIONS:
Traveling from Norwich: Come down route 32 and when you have passed the Coast Guard Academy on your left; follow signs to DOWNTOWN NEW LONDON You will go thru downtown past the New London Day office. You will then cross over State Street and you will see a Whale Mural on the right side. Continue until the road ends and turn left at the light and an immediate right turn onto Bank Street. Go to next light and turn LEFT on Howard Street (RIDLEY LOWELL on your left at the turn). Take next right turn across from Crocker’s Boat Yard. You will see a rotary straight ahead. Go around the rotary to the left and you will see Building 4 on your left. .

Driving south on I-95 from points north: After driving over the Gold Star Bridge; stay in the right lane and take the first exit to the right. You will then go left where it says downtown New London. You will go thru downtown past the New London Day office. You will then cross over State Street and you will see a Whale Mural on the right side. Continue until the road ends and turn left at the light and an immediate right turn onto Bank Street. Go to next light and turn LEFT on Howard Street (RIDLEY LOWELL on your left at the turn). Take next right turn across from Crocker’s Boat Yard. You will see a rotary straight ahead. Go around the rotary to the left and you will see Building 4 on your left.

Driving north on I-95 from points south:Take exit 82 (Broad Street route 85 exit) Turn right and go to the 2nd traffic light. (you will be passing a SAAB and SUBARU Dealer on your left. Turn right at the 2nd traffic light onto Colman Street. Stay on Colman street and it will become a one way street at the 2ND traffic light past the Dunkin Donuts and Wendy’s. Go straight thru the light and Continue on Colman until it ends. Turn left onto Bank street (Route 1). Go past CVS on your left and then Walgreens on your right. Turn right just past the Dime Bank. After you turn you will see a flag pole ahead. Go straight thru rotary and Building 4 is on your left.
