 Yoga for Health and Wellness is a weekly gentle, mindfulness-based yoga offered at VACT Newington campus.  This walk-in class is open to all veterans receiving care at the VA Connecticut Healthcare System.
  • no referral needed
  • class size limited to 20 participants and doors close after that
  • participation is on a 'first come, first serve' basis
  • no prior Yoga experience needed
  • Classes held weekly EVERY WEDNESDAY 11:00-12:15

Week one - General Diabetes Overview - PowerPoint presentation with group discussion
Week two - Nutrition - Eat the Right Foods
Week three - Benefits of Exercise & Diabetes and Eye Health
Week four - Medication Overview for Diabetes & How to Solve Problems
If there is a fifth Thursday in the month, there is no class
No consult needed, walk ins welcome.

Veterans Community Forum
 
Time: 3:00 PM- 7:00 PM (EST)
Location: Lewis B. Rome Commons, 626 Gilbert Road Ext., Storrs (UCONN)
 
 Sponsored by the Connecticut Community Veterans Engagement Board. Event is open to all veterans, service members, National Guard, Reserve and their families. Event will include representatives from federal, state and local agencies. Learn about the various benefits and services available you and your family.
