March 11, 2014

Norwalk Community College will present a special program for veterans on “Veterans’ Education: Moving Forward at Norwalk Community College” from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 12.

Open to the public, this free event celebrates NCC’s extensive services for veterans and the unique partnership between the college and VA Connecticut Healthcare System. Event will include a resource fair for veterans from 11am -2pm in the East Campus atrium along with keynote speaker Luis Carlos Montalvan at 10am in the Pepsico Theater. Luis is the bestselling author of "Until Tuesday."

Veterans should bring a copy of your discharge papers so you can apply for VA health care benefits at the event.

Norwalk Community College offers comprehensive services for student veterans including tuition waivers and a wide range of services to help you succeed academically and re-enter the workforce.

NCC was one of the first colleges in Connecticut to sign a full memorandum of understanding with VA to offer the Veterans Integration to Academic Leadership (VITAL) program on campus for student veterans. VITAL is a new VA initiative to help veterans succeed in college and inform them of VA benefits, programs and resources. Its mission is to provide world-class healthcare and improve the overall mental health of student veterans, while supporting their successful integration into college and university campuses through seamless access to VA healthcare services and on-campus clinical counseling.
