Primary Care

The intent of Primary Care is to address the daily, routine medical needs of patients (i.e., initial diagnoses, annual exams and continual treatment of illness and preventive care). Primary care is provided by a multidisciplinary team including physicians, nursing professionals, social workers, clinical pharmacists and administrative support staff.
Some of the areas covered are health promotion, disease prevention, acute and on-going health care management, referral for sub-specialties, and patient and family education.

Other services provided under the PCSL is Womens Health, the management of the CBOCs, Psych Primary Care, Integrated PC/MH, and Telephone Assistance.
Early morning hours are offered at least once a week on the two main campuses. The CBOCs are open until 5pm once a week.

CBOCs are located in Danbury, New London, Stamford, Waterbury, Willimantic and Winsted.
