Suicide Prevention Program
The Suicide Prevention Program provides clinical consultation to VA providers around high risk veterans. The Suicide Prevention Coordinators monitor and assist veterans identified at High Risk for Suicide to ensure enhanced care is provided. The program monitors and tracks data related to suicide attempts and deaths by suicides, provides postvention support, offers Operation SAVE Training to veterans in residential programs, offers Safety Planning Groups on the inpatient unit and provides education/training within VA Connecticut and in the larger community serving veterans. The Suicide Prevention Team also responds to consults generated by the National Veterans Crisis Line and is an available resources for veterans/families for support and assistance.
