Danbury Community Based Outpatient Clinic

The Danbury VA Primary Care Clinic provides general internal medical care. This includes care for immediate and chronic health concerns, preventive medical care, physical exams, diagnostic laboratory testing, general X-rays and limited immediate pharmacy services.


  • Veterans will have one primary care provider to coordinate care on an ongoing basis.
  • Veterans can receive primary medical care closer to home.
  • Veterans will still be eligible for specialty outpatient care, inpatient care and all other entitlements through the West Haven or Newington Campuses.

From 84 West (from Southbury) 
Take Exit 6. Make a right at the end of the exit ramp and proceed north on Route 37/North Street. Make your second right at the shopping center onto Hayestown Avenue. Then make your second right onto Tamarack Avenue. Make your third left onto Hospital Avenue at Danbury Hospital. Follow Hospital Avenue for ½ mile until it ends at the intersection with Germantown Road. Stay to your left at the fork in the road at the end of Hospital Avenue. The VA office is across the intersection next to the firehouse at 7 Germantown Road, on the second floor. Please use the front entrance.

From 84 East (from New York)
Take Exit 5. Go straight at the end of the exit ramp onto Downs Road. Follow Downs Road straight for two blocks. Go straight through the traffic light onto Route 37/North Street. Make a right at the next traffic light, following the signs for the hospital, onto Balmforth Street. Make a left at the next light onto Osborne Street. Follow Osborne Street for one mile to where it becomes Germantown Road. The VA office is on your right just past the firehouse at 7 Germantown Road, on the second floor. Please use the front entrance.
